Accounting Assistant - Valdez, Alaska
Copper Valley Telecom Cooperative
CVTC is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting operations. This role includes responsibilities in accounts payable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and work order tracking. Qualified applicants will have prior relevant accounting experience, proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, and a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Candidates with a high degree of prior experience and education may be eligible for advanced classifications (Accounting Assistant II or III).
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a starting wage of $24.95 per hour, with a scheduled increase after six months of employment and annually thereafter. The position is represented by the IBEW (membership not required to apply) and is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening (excluding marijuana). Central Office Technician

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and/or GED, four years of experience with a relevant technical background, and telecommunication experience is necessary. Must have and maintain a valid Alaska driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Metaswitch, Cisco, and Juniper certifications are preferred. This individual would be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of the telecommunications network. Combination Technician (Valdez or Glennallen, Alaska)

CVT is seeking a Telecommunications Combination Technician to maintain, install, replace, and repair customer premise equipment and all types of cable facilities. If you have experience with fiber splicing, cutting terminals for new construction, troubleshooting and maintaining Central Office switching systems, and performing acceptance testing, this position could be a great fit! The ideal candidate would have over four years (8,000 hours) of experience working with OSP facilities, experience with necessary tools and work equipment (as detailed in the job description) and be able to work in varying and often extreme climactic conditions.

Telecom Network Engineer – Valdez or Glennallen, AK

Copper Valley Telecom is looking for experienced, collaborative, and motivated Telecom Network Engineers to join our team! CVT Network Engineers provide engineering support for both inside and outside communications facilities in Glennallen or Valdez, AK, while working closely with the Plant and IT Departments. Together, these teams design, implement, maintain, and upgrade all aspects of the core, access, and distribution networks and associated equipment, including the design and support of services deployed via a variety of platforms.
We are looking for someone who understands the general engineering of transport and switching infrastructures, LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN operations, and network design principles. You should have general knowledge of TCP/IP, SIP, Sonet, Ethernet, VoIP, and hosted PBX voice service and the ability to perform basic design and troubleshooting of those platforms.
The ideal candidate would have CCENT certification, an associate degree in electrical engineering, and two years of experience in telecom network engineering; however, a combination of other education and IT experience may be accepted. Candidates with a high degree of prior experience and education may be eligible for advanced classifications (Network Engineer II or III).
